Dr. Ryan Nielson
Dr. Nielson grew up in Idaho and is happy to be back after living away for eleven years during his post-high-school education. In 2007, he graduated from Brigham Young University in Utah with majors in English and Russian. He then attended dental school in Buffalo, New York, and despite the snowy winters, he and his wife both loved experiencing that region of the country. His interest in working with children then brought him back West in 2011 so he could complete a residency in pediatric dentistry at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Denver.
Dr. Nielson chose to pursue a specialty in pediatric dentistry because he has always enjoyed teaching children. He coached kids’ tennis classes when he was in high school, he worked at a summer camp for children with disabilities when he was in college, and he and his wife volunteered at an orphanage in El Salvador right after they got married. He now has the privilege of being a father; he and his wife, Rachel, have one son, Noah.
When he’s not doing dentistry or enjoying his family, Dr. Nielson loves tennis, basketball, snowboarding—really any sporting activity!—and he also enjoys reading and drawing.
